Tour runs from 1st November to 1st March. Depart Portree square 09:00 hrs and return around 15:00hrs.
Why not join us for a leisurely winter tour around the stunning and dramatic landscape of the Trotternish peninsula in North Skye. There will be multi stops for photographs and to take in the atmosphere of the area, including the rugged ridge of the Quiraing and the iconic Old man of Storr. There will extra time to spend at some of the stops on this tour.
The tour would leave Portree and head in a clock wise direction towards Uig, the gateway to the outer isles. Before passing through Uig, we would take a short journey to the enchanting Fairy Glen. From there the next place would be the museum of island life which is closed for the winter so this would be a photo stop only, including Flora MacDonald’s monument. Duntulm castle ruin would be our next stop. Driving through Flodigarry, where the Jurassic landscape is still slipping to this day towards the sea, we will then head up on to the Quiraing where you will see stunning views across towards the Scottish mainland. We will stop next at the Kilt Rock, then Lealt falls, where you can have a short walk. From there a stop for photographs at the Old Man of Storr and then back to Portree.
Access to some areas will depend on weather and road conditions.
A minimum of three seats must be booked for the tour to operate. Please contact us by phone or email to check if the tour is running on the day you require.
Private tours to other areas could be arranged. Please phone or email for details and costs.
We would hope that this introduction to a part of Skye with its awe inspiring scenery will leave a lasting memory, and make you want to come back for a longer holiday in the future.
